Management team
Mrs Shahla Taheri White
After completing teachers training, she first taught at a comprehensive school in Hackney (East London) before returning to Iran. After some years of teaching in Tehran Secondary schools, she co-founded the Rustam Abadian International School.
Following the Iranian Revolution, she came back to London in 1980. she gained qualifications Teaching Community Languages an ESL. She studied successfully for the London University MA in Language and Literature in Education. During this time She was Head teacher of Rustam Iranian School London . She then moved to the Hertfordshire Educational Service as an advisor eventually becoming Head of its Minority Ethnical Curriculum support service in 2003.
Mrs. Taheri-White has published various articles in educational journals and contributed to books concerning mother-tongue teaching. Thus she has devoted a working life-time to international education.
Mrs Parvin Perleschi, the primary phase Deputy Head, has been a dedicated and enthusiastic Rustam staff member since the school's very beginning and she remains so today. Parvin's longed successful career in both primary and secondary education in Iran and England has resulted in a wealth of teaching and management experience. These skills are much valued at Rustam where Parvin is involved in all aspects of school organisation. She is particularly forceful on our maintaining high academic and behavioural standards. Parvin holds an Iranian Bachelor's degree and was a lecturer in English at the institute of Paramedical Sciences in Iran. She also has an Royal Society of Arts Diploma in Teaching Community Languages.
Mr Shahrokh Pirnia
is a member of the Royal Society of Arts, an International Baccalureate Examiner and a Lecturer at the school of oriental and African Studies. He has been teaching in Britain for 30 years. Mr. Pirnia has an MA (Hons) degree in Persian Literature and Language and a Diploma in Education. He is also a senior member of O.C.R (GCSE Persian Examination Committee) and works as a Senior Assessor for the Department of Education. Mr. Pirnia is also Head of Persian Studies at Southbank International school, teaching IB . He has published several of classical Persian Poetry books as well as numerous cultural and educational articles in the Iranian press. He has taught at Rustam for 22 years and holds the position of Deputy Head teacher.
Staff
45-50 experienced staff are involved in the day to day running of the school including the management team, teaching staff, volunteers, members of the parent teacher association and administrative staff. Our teachers are trained with teaching qualification from Iran and Britain. Many of them are teaching in mainstream schools.
